2024 Excursions

Steamtown National Historic Site (Pennsylvania)
Please join New Jersey Trackcar Excursions (NJTE) to visit the Steamtown National Historic Site as invited guests.
We will show off our unusual hobby, and
share with the railroading public what our sppeders did and their history,
who NARCOA is, what we do and more. Can you help be a "Gandy Dancer", swing a spike hammer?
There is a 12 car limit and no cost for this event.
We will be on a section of tracks behind the shops as well as through the shops to demonstrate our cars,
and we will be looking for different cars from over the years, so you must contact either EC for approval to attend with your car.
Good public skills are also required. Set up and set on will be Saturday at Scranton, PA around 9 a.m.,
and departure Sunday afternoon. If you can't bring a car, come out and support our hobby at this great event.
This park is great to spend the day just walking around and seeing the huge railroad history and locomotives, shops, etc.,
so be part of it! As an aside, two years ago the park loved us, and wants us back again!
The event is sponsored by New Jersey Trackcar Excursions (NJTE). It is a NARCOA insured excursion, and all applicable NARCOA rules apply,
as well as any others required by the railroad.
Equipment Restrictions/Requirements: safety vests and hard soled over ankle shoes; radio is required.
Hi-rails are permitted with the following restrictions: FRA and NARCOA Compliant.
NARCOA professionalism is expected and required on this run.

Delaware Ulster Railroad (New York)
The New Jersey Trackcar Excursions is pleased to announce a 3-day, approximately 118 mile excursion on the Delaware and Ulster Railroad.
Please come and join New Jersey Trackcar Excursions on our excursion on this great old railroad.
We will set on at Arkville, NY on Friday approximately at 1:00 p.m.
We plan to operate around train traffic down to Roxbury and back during the day, and also run in the moonlight.
What a beautiful run under the moonlight! Camping on site along the beautiful river by the RR is permitted.
This year we will be doing the familiar run , "up the mountain, down the mountain", and a night run.
The event is sponsored by New Jersey Trackcar Excursions. The price of the trip is $90. Price includes railroad fees and camping area use
and lunch on Saturday.
There is a 30 car limit for this run. This is a NARCOA insured excursion, and all applicable NARCOA rules apply,
as well as any others required by the railroad. Cars and paperwork will be checked / inspected,
and those not up to standard may be refused permission to set-on.
Safety meeting must be attended as well. This is a mentoring run with prior permission.
Children over 10 years old are permitted.
Equipment Restrictions/Requirements: safety vests, hard soled over ankle shoes. Radios are required.
Cars must be able to be easily turned, and must be reliable.

Saturday, August 17th Sunday, August 18th, 2024
Delaware-Lackawanna Railroad (Pennsylvania)
New Jersey Trackcar Excursions is pleased to announce a 2-day, approximately 130 mile run over the Delaware-Lackawanna Railroad.
Seton will be available on Friday evening from 5:00 pm to 07:00 pm and is highly recommended as we have limited time for seton on Saturday morning.
On Saturday we will have a short set-on in Scranton, (starting at 6:30 AM), and the safety meeting will be at 07:00 am, as we must leave by 7:15 AM.
We will head east on the D&L through beautiful countryside, along the river, through at least one tunnel, past many restored stations through places with
names like Tobyhanna, Gouldsboro, Moscow as we head for our turnaround at Slateford Yards. We will make a lunch stop at Tobihana.
We will make our turn at Slateford Yards, and return again through the breathtaking Pennsylvania
countryside traveling the route of the Phoebe Snow.
On Sunday we will have a set-on (starting at 7:30AM), with the safety meeting at 8:00 AM. We will then run the length of Carbondale Main Line from
Scranton to Carbondale Station. There are many crossing on this line so the railroad will be providing flagging at all crossing.
The price of the excursion is $265. There is a 35 car limit and a non-mentoring run. As usual, this is a NARCOA insured excursion.
All applicable NARCOA rules apply, as well as any others required by the railroad. Safety meeting must be attended as well.
Equipment Restrictions/Requirements: safety vests, hard soled over ankle shoes; hi-rails and heavy cars are with permission only.
Radios are strongly encouraged. Cars must be able to be easily turned, and must be reliable. You must be able to maintain 25 MPH on this run.
We will be interfacing with train traffic, so breakdowns cannot be afforded.
